Here are the words of Larry Brickner Wood, Executive Director of the Waysmeet Center:

We have been doing holiday food baskets for over 20 years, and the numbers have grown, as has the love, generosity, hope and joy shared by our wonderful volunteers, donors and community members who respond again and again for our calls for help. We got Day 1 of the food baskets finished tonight, and are gearing up for distribution day tomorrow! Deepest gratitude to Calling All Cargo Movers and?Mike Carlton?for donating staff and a moving van once again to pick up 10,000 lbs. of food from the NH Food Bank and Kingman Farm. Gracious thanks to?Jerry Needell,?Rick Beary?and?Patrick Beary?for making the trek to NH Food Bank with me, and to Rick and Patrick for the generous donations of eggs and for doing lots of heavy lifting! Thank you to APO and the Student Nutrition Association for always being there; thank you to the Newmarket Food Pantry and Rev. Patty Marsden for being wonderful partners and sharing with us. Thank you to dear friend Rev.?Paul Cullity?and his lovely partner for their bodacious work and wonderful presence. Thank you to Evan, Kyle and the UNH Kingman Farm for the amazing butternut squash! Thank you to Ken Entz and Wildcat Fitness and their patrons for the wonderful boxes of donations! Thank you to to the NH Food Bank for their hard work and efforts at feeding so many people skvallra. A joyful thank you to?Alexandra?and her wonderful mom, for one of the best surprises ever, coming up from UCONN to volunteer! Thank you to Coach?Alison Smith?for being a rock! Thank you to Alpha Chi Sigma, the Chemistry Honor Society, for doing the last shift tonight, which got us prepared for tomorrow, and ready to roll–you all are so impressive! Deepest thanks to the NH Charitable Foundation and the Thomas Haas Fund which gave us a grant of $10,000 the very day we essentially ran out of funds for 2019–your timing is superb! Beautiful bouquets of appreciation to Josh Beckett of Meadows Mirth farm and the Three Rivers Farm Alliance, who worked tirelessly to get over 1,000 lbs. of beautiful fresh vegetables and fruit to donate to the effort–we cant’ wait to distribute these! And, last but never least, our incredible team of staff and students, Alissa Megee,?Grace Stott,?Clio Walsh,?Isabelle Kapoian,?Aubrey Porter,?Emma Bragg, and a cast of thousands. You make Waysmeet what it has been, is and will be! Love is the revolution!????
